Minneapolis-based Architecture, Engineering Firm Expands to Dallas-Fort Worth

BKV to Open Office in Downtown Dallas, Sees Opportunity in Offering Holistic Design Approach

Jonathan Delcambre, associate partner with BKV Group, will lead the firm's new downtown Dallas office.

Minneapolis-based BKV Group, a full-service architecture, interior design and engineering firm, has decided to expand to North Texas with a new office in downtown Dallas.

In October, the firm plans to open a 3,000-square-foot office with two people on the seventh floor of Adolphus Tower at 1412 Main St. BKV hopes to expand to as many as 24 employees in the near future.

"We are bringing something a little bit different to the area," said Jonathan Delcambre, an associate partner who was hired to lead the new office. "We are an architecture and engineering company and one of the few companies that bring holistic design to our clients."

BKV selected Dallas as an expansion market because its central location in the U.S. could provide more business for the firm, said Delcambre, an architect and design expert with 18 years of experience.

Rapid real estate growth in Dallas-Fort Worth has created an opening for BKV to bring its specializations -- from architecture to interior design to landscape architecture to engineering -- to the table to create economical high-rises for clients, said Jack Boarman, the firm's partner and chief executive in Minneapolis.

Boarman acknowledges Dallas architecture is evolving, and the city is ready for a diversity in its projects. "There's been so much activity -- the podium stick frame projects have used up all the easy opportunities," Boarman told CoStar News. "We are able to use our holistic design platform to double the density of wood and help create density without the expense of concrete."

The new Dallas office is working with BKV's three other offices around the country, including Washington, D.C., and Chicago, on national and regional projects.

Delcambre has already begun recruiting project leaders in design, client management and project management.

BKV is overseeing the interior design of the Dallas office. CRK is the general contractor.
