WeWork Takes Top Three Floors at 777 Sixth St. NW
Bentall Kennedy Signs Co-Working Space Provider to 54,000-SF Lease at Chinatown Office Bldg.
WeWork is set to open its 11th location in the Washington, D.C. area and its second in Chinatown after the collaborative workspace provider finalized a deal to take the top three floors at 777 6th St. owned by Bentall Kennedy's U.S. Core Fund.
WeWork, which also operates a location at 718 7th St., plans to offer 900 desks in the 54,277 square feet it leased at the 11-story, 187,937-square-foot office building located a half-block from Capital One Arena and across from the Chinatown Metro station. The company is scheduled to take occupancy of its new space later this year.
The signing is a nice coup for Bentall Kennedy, which needed only two months to secure a tenant to backfill the top floors formerly home to global white shoe law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, whose lease expired January 31.
Joe Michel and Scott Fetterolf of Transwestern brokered the lease for Bentall Kennedy, while Zach Boroson and Andy O'Brien of JLL handled negotiations for WeWork.
